Because I know you love and care about the children of Romania and the work of Denisa Care Center, I want to share an urgent need and ask for your help.
In recent years, governmental corruption has caused us to be unable to obtain our annual permits to confirm the center building is up to standard. For years, we have received a large fine for fire code violations even though we always complete the required list of changes.
Though we tried everything to satisfy the requirements, it was never enough. This year we were told that we would have to pay double the previous fines.
To avoid this fine and further fines in the future, our building needed to be smaller, thus eliminating the need to meet the code requirements.
Unfortunately, this smaller building would mean we would not be able to have as many children attend the center. We would need to construct a second building to ensure our younger children could continue to attend the Denisa Care Center program every day.
And so, after much prayer, we have demolished a portion of our existing building. We now need your help to construct a 900-square-foot building that will serve our children from ages 6-9 years.
Our children come from challenging backgrounds and the center offers them a second home where they feel safe and valued.
The new building will provide a supportive and nurturing atmosphere to allow the younger children to thrive academically, socially and emotionally during these vital developmental years.
We have over half of the building costs already covered! But we need your help to cover the remaining $26,000 so we can welcome the younger children back to the Denisa program by September 16th when school starts.
