A couple of months ago, I told you about February on the Floor, a campaign to provide beds for kids sleeping on the ground or in other difficult situations.
Today, I want to tell you about Zawadi and her sons, students at Open Arms Academy, who recently received their new beds.
Known for always having a smile on her face, Zawadi, the mother of nine kids, never stops trying to make things better for her family. She works as a manual labourer and does whatever she can to make sure there is at least one meal on the table every day for her children.
“I have to do what I can as a mother so that my boys can understand what it means to care for a home.”
Thanks to your generosity in response to February on the Floor, the boys now sleep in their own beds.
“Its difficult for me to explain what having beds has done for us. The only way I can describe it is to tell you that you made us feel human again. That is the greatest gift I can wish for my boys." said Zawadi.
Thank you for helping Zawadi and many others by gifting dignity. Together, the Open Arms family raised enough money for 60 beds, including pillows, blankets, and sheets!
